Ellisons Advance to Consolation Doubles Final at ITA Regionals Sisters win twice to move on to championship match

The San Diego State doubles duo of Roxanne Ellison and Sierra Ellison won their two matches to advance to the consolation final of the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Saturday at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego. The Ellison team defeated the UCLA tandem of Stephanie Hoffpauir and Jordan Dockendorf, 8-4, in the quarterfinals before moving on in the bracket. In the next round, which took place immediately after the quarters, the pair downed Bryanna Ojeda and Asagi Onaga of UC Santa Barbara, 8-4, to secure them a spot in Sunday's final. In singles, SDSU was not successful on this day as all three Aztecs dropped their respective matches. Olivia Colman was extended to three sets and ultimately fell to UC Irvine's Brooke Bartlett, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, while Sierra Ellison and Julia Wais fell in straights sets to their respective opponents.
