Colorado State Tennis Defeats Wyoming At Mountain West Championship The Rams move to 14-9 on the year.
April 29, 2005 The Colorado State tennis team defeated Wyoming 4-0 today at the Mountain West Conference Championship in the consolation bracket. The Rams move to 14-9 on the year, while Wyoming falls to 9-13. The Rams swept doubles play winning No. 2 and 3. Dasha Zhurin and Alex Paganetti did not give up a game to Andrea House and Gwen Moser at No. 3. Jessica Jones and Carla Pallares defeated Corina Lazer and Amy Senko at No. 2 in a quick 8-2 set. Anne Andersen and Emily Kirchem did not finish their No. 1 match. In singles play, the Rams dominated the Cowgirls winning at No. 3, 4, and 6 to move on to the championship in the consolation bracket. Andersen defeated of Karolina Rowinski 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3. Pallares defeated House at No. 4, 6-2, 6-1, while Paganetti crushed Michelle Brown at No. 6, 6-2, 6-1, to seal the win for the Rams. Zhurin, Kirchem, and Jones did not finish their matches due to the sweep. The Rams face the winner of the Utah/ Air Force match Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the consolation bracket championship.
