Utah Tops Wyoming In Second Round Of MWC Women's Tennis Championship Utes to play for fifth place on Saturday.

FT. COLLINS, Colo. - Fifth-seeded Utah defeated eighth-seeded Wyoming, 4-1, during the second day of the 2001 MWC Women's Tennis Championships at the Edora Tennis Complex Friday. Wyoming's Jenny Bowman won at No. 1 singles, defeating Utah's Cassie Kasteler, 6-2, 6-3. Utah won the hard fought doubles point and No. 3, 4 and 5 singles to close out the match. The Utes are now 4-5 against MWC teams and 7-13 on the year. Utah plays for fifth-place Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on the Edora Tennis Courts. Wyoming is 0-9 in the MWC and falls to 4-16 on the year. The Cowgirls will compete for seventh-place in the tournament Saturday at 1:00 p.m. on the Edora Tennis Courts. Match-ups will be determined after the UNLV/ Air Force game is played Friday afternoon.
