Colorado State Defeats Utah For Fifth Place at MWC Women's Tennis Tournament Rams end season with 10-9 overall record; Utah finishes with a 7-16 record on the season.

SAN DIEGO - Fifth-seeded Colorado State defeated seventh-seeded Utah, 4-1, to claim fifth-place at the 2003 MWC Women's Tennis Championship Saturday morning at SDSU Courts. The Rams doubles pairs of Sanja Hansson and Dasha Zhurin and Carla Pallares and Tatyana Ugorich won matches at the number one and three positions, respectively, to tally the doubles point. Pallares (No. 4), Hansson (No. 1) and Jessica Jones (No. 5) were victorious in their respective singles matches, to clinch the win for Colorado State. Sheri Esrock notched the only point for Utah with her victory over CSU's Dasha Zhurin at number two singles. The Rams close out the tournament with a 10-9 overall record, while Utah finishes with a 7-16 record on the season.
