Provo, Utah - Number two seed UNLV will be playing in the title game of the MWC Women's Tennis Championships after defeating New Mexico 4-1, Friday.

No. 19 UNLV got the quick 2-0 lead after winning the doubles point and the number one singles match with Pauline Janus's easy 6-0, 6-0 victory over the Lobos' Tjasa Suvak. The Rebels were up 3-0 after Marianne Bakken picked up the straight set win over Courtney Choate at the six singles spot.

New Mexico picked up its lone point in the dual match from Tiffany Robertson who beat Tracie Chong in straight sets at the number four singles position.

In the second morning match between Colorado State and the Air Force Academy, the victory came down to the number one singles match. Air Force took the early lead winning the doubles point and was up 2-0 after the Falcons Laura Nigro beat the Rams' Amanda Bartz 6-2, 6-2 in the number two singles match. CSU then came back to tie it up 2-2 with straight set wins at the number three and four singles position. The Rams' Sasha Zhurn gave her team a 3-2 advantage after playing three sets to finally beat Air Force's Gina Black 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. The match was tied up again at 3-3 with the number six singles victory going to Air Force. After more then four hours of playing time, the victory went to the Air Force Academy with a three-set 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-2 win over CSU's Sanja Hansson. The Falcons will play again Saturday morning, the winner of the Utah vs Wyoming match for a fifth place finish in the tournament.
