Colorado State Defeats Wyoming in Second Round of MWC Championship

Rams will play winner of Air Force/Utah for fifth place.

SAN DIEGO - Fifth-seeded Colorado State knocked off eighth-seeded Wyoming, 4-0, in the consolation bracket of the 2003 MWC Women's Tennis Championship Friday at Barnes Tennis Center.

The Rams took control of the match early by picking up the doubles point with wins at the number one and three spots. Colorado State then dominated play in the singles portion of the match, picking up wins at the number two, five and six spots. All matches were won in straight sets.

CSU improves to 9-9 overall on the season and will face the winner of Air Force/Utah in the fifth-place match Saturday morning at SDSU Courts. Wyoming finishes the season with an 8-15 overall record.
