SAN DIEGO - Top-seeded and 28th-ranked UNLV defeated eighth-seeded Wyoming, 4-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2003 Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Championships on Thursday.
The Rebels improved to 16-4 on the season, while Wyoming fell to 8-14.
The Rebels' Gyorgyi Zsiros and Amy Hadziosmanovic teamed up for a victory at number three doubles to clinch the first point for UNLV. Both players won singles matches as well, with Zsiros winning at number one and Hadziosmanovic claiming the victory at number six.
UNLV advances to the semifinal round where the Rebels will face Brigham Young tomorrow at the SDSU Courts at 10 a.m. PDT. The Cowgirls will meet Colorado State in the backdraw tomorrow at the Barnes Center at 10 a.m. PDT.
