Top-Seeded UNLV Advances With 4-0 Win Over No. 8 Wyoming at 2009 Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Championship

2009 MWC Tennis Championships CentralUNLV vs. Wyoming Scores

Regular season champion UNLV beat No. 8 Wyoming, 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Championship Thursday afternoon at the Jerry Cline Tennis Center in Albuquerque, N.M. UNLV will face the winner of BYU/New Mexico at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 24.

UNLV earned the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. No. 2 doubles Alisa Razina and Anna Maskaljun beat Rebecca Berger and Jamie Nelson, 8-2, to seal the point.

UNLV actually took a 2-0 lead into the singles portion of the match with a default win at No. 6 singles. Maskaljun picked up the third Rebels' point with a win over Carolina Chaix at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

The Rebels finished the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles by Katy Williams over Carly Van Hollen.
