"I told our kids this might be the best loss we've ever had, when you consider everything," said Rams' coach Jon Messick. "To play the defending champion that close - and win at no. 1 and no. 2 singles - shows a tremendous effort by our kids. I was proud of the whole team the way they fought. We've played a tough schedule, and it's paid off. That's what we saw today." Colorado State returns to action Saturday, facing the University of Utah at 11 a.m. at the Wyoming Tennis Complex.
