Women's Tennis Falls To Fresno State
Batta loses for first time in 13 dual matches this season.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 70th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost 5-2 at the hands of No. 60 Fresno State during an overcast Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels dropped to 8-6 while the Bulldogs improved to 7-5.
Fresno State began the morning by taking two of three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. The host's only win came on court two where Lucia Batta and Manon de Lanlay downed Melissa McQueen and Bianca Modoc, 8-7.
In singles, Batta, ranked 59th, lost her first dual match in 13 outings this season, falling in straight sets to No. 50 Marianne Jodoin 6-3, 6-3 at the top of the lineup. It marked the first time since Jan. 15 that Batta even lost as much as a set.
UNLV got points at the second spot, where No. 125 Aleksandra Josifoska swept Olga Kirpicheva 6-2, 6-0; and at No. 4 where de Lanlay downed McQueen 6-2, 7-6.
The visitors, however, rallied to take both of the day's three-setters to clinch the overall victory.
Next up, the Lady Rebels will host Tennessee on Wednesday starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all UNLV tennis matches is free of charge.
