SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah softball team saw six of its student-athletes honored by the Mountain West Conference as they were named to the league's academic all-conference team today.

Leading the way was first baseman Staci Hemingway. The sophomore exercise and sport science major recorded a team-best 3.96 grade-point average.

A total of 731 student-athletes league-wide were named to the team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
