June 25, 2003

VAN NUYS, Calif. - BYU outfielder Oli Keohohou and catcher Lauren Watson were named to the Easton Sports 2003 Softball All-American team. Keohohou was also named an NFCA All-American last month for the third consecutive year. Watson's selection marks the first time a Cougar other than Keohohou has been named an All-American.

Keohohou, a junior, was named for the first time an Easton First Team All-American award. Keohohou was previously named a Louisville Slugger All-American as a freshman in 2001. Keohohou earned West All-Region First Team honors and was named Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Year this season. Keohohou finished 18th in the nation in batting average with .426 and 29th in the nation in RBI with 0.89 per game. She led the MWC in almost every offensive category.

Watson, a sophomore who also plays in the outfield, was an All-MWC and All-Region selection in 2003. The native of Castaic, Calif., batted .379 with 66 hits, 10 home runs and 32 RBI in the lead-off position.

Both Keohohou and Watson will return to add depth to the Cougar lineup in the 2004 season.
