COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three members of the University of Utah softball team were named Mountain West Conference Scholar Athletes and five were named to the Spring Academic All-Conference Team.

Hannah Clements, Laura Dahlberg and Bonnie Muir earned the MWC Scholar Athlete Award. In order to earn the award, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.

Clements, Joni Cook, Staci Hemingway, Andrea Hoffman and Jasey Jensen were all recognized on the academic all-conference team.

In all, Utah had 88 student-athletes recognized on the Spring Academic All-MWC team. The spring team included baseball, softball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's golf, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving and women's track and field.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
