BYU Wins MWC Regular-Season Title BYU swept its last series with UNLV to clinch the 2007 MWC softball regular-season title with a 16-4 league record. The crown was BYU's third as the team also earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Cougars Host NCAA Regional
For the second consecutive year, BYU was a regional host in the NCAA Women's College World Series. The Cougars defeated Cal Poly and Southern Utah before ultimately falling to No. 9 Arizona State. BYU has made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament and hold a 4-8 all-time record.

Television Tidbits
The Mountain West Conference 2007 softball broadcast schedule includes an unprecedented 11 games on national and regional television. The television exposure provided by the MWC broadcast partners far exceeds the softball coverage in the previous seven-year history of the league. Seven games will be shown on the MountainWest Sports Network - The Mtn., while four games will be broadcast live nationally on CSTV.

BYU
BYU won its third overall MWC title and registered its third consecutive 40-win season...The Cougars were a WCWS Regional host for the second year in a row...BYU closed out the regular season by winning 26 of its final 30 games...As a team, the Cougars hit 87 home runs this season, shattering the previous record of 68 set in 2005...Both Cortney Nix-Clark and Emi Snow were one double shy of the single-season record of 15 at BYU...The Cougars finished the regular season with a 15-1 home record.

Colorado State
Freshman Ashley Munoz tied the school's single-season home run record (14) set by teammate Brittany Huerta as a freshman in 2004...Huerta finished this year with 12 home runs and 33 for her career, setting a new all-time mark in the Colorado State record books...Munoz and senior Stacey Leigh each hit over .400 for the Rams in conference play, marking the first time since the formation of the MWC that two Rams have accomplished that feat in the same season...Colorado State became the only team in the country to have 14 different players homer this season, moving ahead of No. 3/2 Alabama and No. 13/12 Hawai'i for top honors.

New Mexico
The Lobos had the most conference wins (9) since the 2002 season when they went 10-11...UNM hit .277 as a team with 212 runs scored and 34 home runs...Playing with an aggressive style, the Lobos stole a school-record 72 bases in head coach Ty Singleton's first year...Sophomore Analise Rubalcava was the only UNM player selected as All-MWC as she hit .393 for the year with seven home runs, a team-leading 34 RBI and 48 hits...The Chandler, Ariz., native, received the award for the first time in her career after starting every game at third base.

San Diego State
The Aztecs finished the season 32-24, their seventh winning season in the MWC's eight-year history...SDSU posted a losing mark (8-12) in conference play for just the second time...The Aztecs set school single-season records in batting average (.296), runs (238) and total bases (593) this year...LF Brittany Knudsen ranked among the Aztec single-season top-three leaders in on-base percentage (.464), batting average (.386), runs (39) and walks (24)...San Diego State returns its top eight hitters next season and all four of its pitchers.

UNLV
UNLV finished the regular season in second place with a 12-8 league record...Redshirt freshman Jaci Hull, an all-MWC selection, led the Rebels in batting average (.370), slugging percentage (.679), on-base percentage (.500), runs scored (49), hits (68) and doubles (17)...UNLV only loses one senior to next year's squad.

Utah
Over the last two weekends of play, Staci Hemingway hit .667 (16-for-24) to raise her season average from .266 to a final .325 average...Hemingway and Meghan Crouse each finished the regular season with eight-game hitting streaks...Ute hurler and graduating senior Meghan Dyer ended her collegiate career listed among the top strikeout pitchers in Utah history...She amassed 469 K's to rank fourth all-time at Utah...Dyer also tied the school record for K's in a game (16) against Nevada at the season-opening Kajikawa Classic.
