LAS VEGAS - The UNLV softball program will hold four camps this summer with emphasis on various aspects of the game at Eller Media Stadium. On June 13-14, two days of instruction will be set aside for hitting and all-skills. On July 9-10, a slapping camp will be held, while a one-day camp for catchers is scheduled for July 9, as well.

The hitting camp is for ages 13- to 18-years-old and runs June 14-14 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. The camp will involve two days of offensive topics from hitting, bunting to base running. This camp will cover a mix of basic and advanced techniques.

The all-skills camp is directed to all kids that play on 12U and below aged teams with basic skills necessary to play softball. The camp (June 13-14, 5:00 to 7:00 pm) will include pitching, hitting and fielding segments so that kids can tailor their needs to perform better. This is a two-day camp that will help ensure learning.

The slapping camp aimed for ages 15- to 18-years-old will be held on July 9-10 at 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The camp will involve two days of advanced offensive topics of slapping, power slap, hitting, bunting and base running. Bring your speed and bat control

The catching camp is a position specific camp for 15- to 18-year-olds and will be held only on July 9 (7:30 to 9:30 pm). The instruction given will cover all topics, such as: Catching, blocking, arm action, framing, plays at the plate, pop-ups, how to handle pitchers , fielding bunts, throwing and proper footwork.
