PROVO, Utah - Three Cougars have been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-West Region teams.

Seniors Jodi Norton and Jennifer Whiteley both collected first team honors, while junior Emi Snow made the second team. The selections are career firsts for each of the players, who were also named all-Mountain West Conference last week.

Norton hit a school-record 23 home runs this season, leading the MWC in the category along with RBIs (59). The shortstop from Mesa, Arizona was also named MWC Softball Player of the Year.

Whiteley became just the fourth player in team history to finish a season with a batting average over .400 with her league-best .416 on the year. The senior outfielder also reached career marks in hits (82), runs (47) and RBI (26). Whiteley's four triples in 2007 gives her the school's all-time record of 13.

Snow came into the 2007 campaign with eight career home runs. By year's end, the junior from Mililani, Hawaii had tripled her career total by going deep 16 times. Snow was third on the squad with 60 hits and was second with a .663 slugging percentage.
