LAS VEGAS - Riding the momentum of being named the Mountain West Conference's Pitcher of the Year this past Monday, Christie Robinson has just been garnered with another prestigious award. Today, it was announced that Robinson was named to the second team of the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-West Region. the award voted on by West Region coaches ranging from the MWC, Big West Conference and Western Athletic Conference.

Robinson, who completed the 2007 campaign with a record of 15-5 and an ERA of 2.26 in 39 appearances, was also named the the MWC's All-Conference team, as well. The sophomore was named the MWC's Pitcher of the Week on three occasions.

Robinson becomes the 48th selection in UNLV softball history to be tabbed to the All-West Region team. She joins teammates Marissa Nichols, Caitlyn Paus and Brittany Meade as present-day Rebels to have been honored. Nichols, Paus and Meade were named to the 2005 squad.

The West Region squads were comprised of 24 selections with Fresno State and Hawai'i taking four spots apiece. The Mountain West Conference was well represented with BYU receiving three honorees (Jodi Norton, Jennifer Whiteley and Emi Snow), while Utah (Diana Phillips) and San Diego State (Brittany Knudson) had one student-athlete named.
