Mountain West softball champion San Diego State makes its fifth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance when the Aztecs square off against No. 20/20 Florida State in the opening game of the Los Angeles Regional on Friday, May 18.

Notables:

• San Diego State captured its fifth Mountain West title, and first since 2008, with a 9-3 record in Conference play this season.

• The Aztecs will be participating in their eighth NCAA tournament overall and hold a 10-14 all-time record in postseason action.

• This marks the first time San Diego State has earned the Mountain West's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. All seven of its previous appearances were as a recipient of an at-large berth.
