COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2006 Mountain West Conference Softball Tournament Championship Game will be featured live nationally on CSTV Networks -- both on CSTV: College Sports Television and streamed live on CSTV.com. The Saturday, May 13 contest at Eller Media Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. PT start.

No. 3 seed Utah will face the winner of No. 1 San Diego State vs. No. 2 BYU in the title contest. San Diego State and BYU will play in an elimination game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. PT. Tim Neverett will be the play-by-play announcer with Krista Blunk adding commentary for Saturday's title game.

The winner of the championship game will automatically qualify for a spot in the NCAA Women's College World Series. BYU and UNLV both advanced to postseason play last year.

The softball championship is one of 25 contests that comprised the entire Mountain West Conference package this year on CSTV, including coverage of volleyball, women's basketball, baseball and women's soccer. Starting on July 1, 2006, CSTV will also be the primary home of MWC men's basketball and football. The Mountain West Conference and CSTV Networks recently released the creation of The mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network, the first-ever super regional sports network dedicated solely to an intercollegiate athletic conference. The mtn. will launch later this summer and debut its first live football telecasts on Saturday, September 2. For more information, please visit the Mountain West Conference website at www.TheMWC.com. To get CSTV, please contact your local cable or satellite provider.
