COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State freshman Erin Floros and BYU senior Summer Tobias were named the Mountain West Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. It marked the first career honor for Floros and fifth career honor for Tobias.

Floros, a native of San Diego, Calif., batted .615 (8-for-13) to help the Aztecs clinch their third Mountain West title in the last five seasons. She also led the team in hits (8), runs (6), doubles (2), total bases (10) and putouts (31) over the week. Defensively, Floros threw out two of three runners trying to steal second base. Over the final three games, she batted .800 (8-for-10) and went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a career-high four runs in SDSU's 8-3 title win over Utah.

Tobias, hailing from Temecula, Calif., earned the decision in each of BYU's five games last week. She led the Cougars to a 4-0 record on the road against Mountain West Conference rivals San Diego State and UNLV. Tobias pitched complete game shutouts in game one against both San Diego State and UNLV. After shutting out the Aztecs in game one, Tobias earned the win in relief in game two. She broke her own BYU school record for wins in a season (20) with the game one victory over the Aztecs. She also broke the career victories (42) mark in only two seasons with the Cougars.
