COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2002 Mountain West Conference Softball Championship will be held in Provo, Utah May 9-11 (Thursday-Saturday). No. 3 UNLV and No. 6 Colorado State start the double elimination tournament with its game on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. MDT, followed by No. 4 New Mexico and No. 5 BYU at 2 p.m. MDT. The winner of the Rebels and Rams will advance to play No. 2 Utah, at 4:30 p.m. MDT on Thursday, with the winner of the Lobos and Cougars going against No. 1 San Diego State, the MWC regular season champion, at 7 p.m. MDT The championship game will be on Saturday, May 11 with the time to be announced.
