THIS WEEK IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
The MWC wraps up its regular season this week, highlighted by Sunday's doubleheader between San Diego State and Colorado State, which will be televised live on CSTV at 1 p.m. PST. The match-up pits the winners of the last three MWC regular-season champions (Colorado State - 2004; San Diego State - 2002 and 2003). Utah at BYU kicks conference play off on Wednesday. in other league action, second-place UNLV will host CSU (Friday) and New Mexico (Sunday), while SDSU hosts New Mexico on Friday. MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE QUICK HITS BYU
BYU swept New Mexico in conference play last week...Senior Lauren Watson-Perry leads the MWC in batting average (.438), and is second in runs scored (51), hits (70) and total bases (108)...In this week's NCAA statistics, she is fourth in runs scored (1.04 per game) and 12th in batting average (.438)...Juniors Ashlyn Russell and Ianeta Le'i also appear in the NCAA statistics, with Russell ranking 11th in home runs per game (0.33), and Le'i 17th in RBI (47 total, 1.00 per game)...BYU wraps up MWC regular-season play vs. Utah on Wednesday, before hosting Florida State on Friday.
COLORADO STATE
Colorado State had doubleheaders vs. BYU and Utah cancelled last week due to inclement weather...Junior Jennifer Gardner and sophomore Brittany Huerta both need just one more hit to reach 100 for their careers...Junior righthander Genevieve Kelly needs just three more strikeouts to move into third place on the CSU career charts...She currently sits in fourth with 216 career K's...Head coach Mary Yori is just six wins shy of 600 for her career...The Rams wrap up MWC play with doubleheaders at UNLV (Friday) and San Diego State (Sunday) this weekend...The doubleheader vs. the Aztecs will be televised live on CSTV, starting at 1 p.m. PST.
NEW MEXICO
The Lobos went 1-3, hosting BYU and Utah last week...UNM's game two win over Utah ended an 11-game losing streak...Freshman Ashley Allen hit .462 (6-for-13), with three RBI and one run scored last week...She leads the Lobos with a .391 batting average in MWC play...Sophomore Liz Young batted .400 vs. BYU and Utah...New Mexico hits the road for doubleheaders at San Diego State (Friday) and Colorado State (Sunday) this weekend.
SAN DIEGO STATE
San Diego State was swept by UNLV on Saturday...The Aztecs have now lost eight straight MWC games and 11 of their last 12 overall...The San Diego State pitching staff leads the MWC in ERA (1.77), opponent batting average (.206) and strikeouts (348)...Junior righthander Celena Velasquez leads the conference in ERA (1.30), opposing batting average (.178), strikeouts (183) and is tied for first in saves (five), while she is tied for eighth in the nation in saves and 46th in ERA...The Aztecs host New Mexico on Friday and Colorado State on Sunday...Sunday's doubleheader will be televised live on CSTV, starting at 1 p.m. PST.
UNLV
UNLV swept San Diego State on Saturday...The Rebels have now swept four-game season series from San Diego State and Utah, marking the first time the Rebels have swept a season series, let alone two, from a conference foe since joining the MWC...UNLV's 37 wins on the season is tied for fifth on the all-time program list...Senior Morgan Bostwick currently ranks third all-time at UNLV in games played (236)...She needs just seven more games played to take over first-place...Freshman Marissa Nichols is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak, her second longest of the season...She hit her 15th home run of the season in game two vs. SDSU, moving her into a tie for second on the UNLV single-season charts and eighth in the career rankings...She also stole her 28th base of the year, placing her ninth on the Rebel career list...UNLV ends its regular season hosting Colorado State and New Mexico this weekend.

Utah split its doubleheader with New Mexico on Sunday...Junior Jackie Wong stretched her hitting streak to seven games last week, going 4-for-7 and scoring three of Utah's seven runs vs. the Lobos...Junior righthander Lindsie Nielsen has a 1.92 ERA in her last 13 games on the mound, dropping her overall ERA from 5.28 to 3.08 in that span...Freshman Meghan Crouse is batting .444 (4-for-9) over her last four games, well above her .213 season batting average...Utah ends it regular season MWC schedule with a doubleheader vs. BYU on Wednesday, before hosting Florida State on Saturday.
