SAN DIEGO - All athletes have pregame rituals. Something to help them gear up for a contest.

It's not that simple for San Diego State's Amber Grahlman. Preparation for the junior catcher begins long before she arrives at the softball field.

Grahlman was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age 11. The affliction has impacted her lifestyle the past nine years but hasn't robbed her of her passion for playing softball.
