THIS WEEK
San Diego State remains a perfect 12-0 in conference play after sweeping Colorado State and New Mexico last week. No team has ever finished the conference season undefeated. The Aztecs will travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to take on UNLV on Saturday, April 29 at 5 p.m. Utah moved into second place with a sweep of third-place BYU. The Utes will host New Mexico on Saturday and nonconference-foe New Mexico State on Sunday. The Cougars will play Southern Utah before facing Colorado State and New Mexico at home. Colorado State and UNLV will also take on North Dakota State and Cal State Fullerton, respectively, this week.

BYU
BYU's Ianeta Le`i broke the school record for RBI in a season when she picked up a two-run single in the Cougars' 8-5 loss to Utah...Le`i now has 62 RBI on the season, setting the school career RBI record...Before their loss to Utah on Saturday, the Cougars had previously won a season-high eight straight games...BYU's string of six-consecutive games of scoring 10 runs or more ended when the Cougars beat Utah State 9-6 in game two of their doubleheader.
COLORADO STATE
Senior Rachelle Padeway recorded the first home run of her career in the Rams game two victory over UNLV on Sunday...Head Coach Mary Yori needs just one more victory to reach 160 for her career at Colorado State, tying Candi Letts (1994-98) as the winningest coach in CSU softball history...Freshman pitcher Kim Klabough moved into the top-five in single-season strikeouts at Colorado State last Friday versus San Diego State...Klabough has now recorded 116 strikeouts in a team-leading 133 innings pitched, which ranks fifth in school history...Jessica Strickland is now second on the career charts at Colorado State with 43 doubles...She also ranks fourth in career home runs with 22 for her career, just ahead of fellow junior Brittany Huerta who has notched 21 career long balls.
NEW MEXICO
Conference play has not been kind to UNM, posting a 2-12 record to date...The Lobos have lost their last five games and will need to win a conference game on the road for just the second time this season to break that streak...The Lobos are one of the top hitting teams in the MWC, ranking second in batting average (.312), runs (234), hits (383) and RBIs (221)...However, the Lobo are last in the MWC in team ERA (4.90), opposing batting average (.299) and earned runs allowed (210).
SAN DIEGO STATE
The Aztecs scored a school-record 21 runs in their 21-5, five-inning win over New Mexico on April 23...The 21 runs eclipses their record of 20 runs set on Feb. 17 of this season against Rider (W, 20-2)...SDSU's 21 home runs this season broke its school record of 19 set in 1996...The Aztecs' 12 game-winning streak is one short of their best ever, set in 2003...SDSU has outscored its opponents, 82-28, in its 12 MWC games this season...First baseman Monica Alnes hit for the cycle, scored four runs and had five RBI in the Aztecs 21-5 win over the Lobos on Sunday...Catcher Erin Floros is batting .456 (26-for-57) since March 10 (18 games).
UNLV
In the last 10 games, Brittany Freight and Kendall Fearn are both hitting .444...Freight is 16-for-36, while Fearn is 12-for-27...After the Rebels visit Cal State Fullerton on Thursday for a non-conference doubleheader, UNLV will be home for three straight doubleheaders to close out the 2006 regular season...The Rebels sit 5-9 in league play, with 10 of those previously played games coming on the road.
UTAH
Over the last 10 games, five Utes are batting .320 or better...Jackie Wong is batting .457, Jessica Shiery is hitting .419, Diana Phillips .405 and Andrea Hoffman .320...Utah is hitting .285 for the season but the team sees its average bump up to .303 in conference play...Utah has stolen 11 bases in 13 attempts in conference play...Pitcher Meghan Dyer has 139 strikeouts, more than the other three Utes pitchers combined...Utah has the best home record in the league at 9-1.
