Weekend Recap
As the first half of the conference season concludes, BYU leads the MWC race with an 8-2 conference record after sweeping the series with Colorado State and New Mexico. UNLV (7-2) stands in second place after splitting the series with San Diego State. New Mexico (4-3) is the only other league team with a conference record above .500.

Television Tidbits
The Mountain West Conference 2007 softball broadcast schedule includes an unprecedented 11 games on national and regional television. The television exposure provided by the MWC broadcast partners far exceeds the softball coverage in the previous seven-year history of the league. Seven games will be shown on the MountainWest Sports Network - The Mtn., while four games will be broadcast live nationally on CSTV.

This week's Utah at BYU game will be televised live on CSTV, beginning at 6 p.m. MT. The double-header between New Mexico and San Diego State in San Diego, Calif., will also be televised live on The Mtn., beginning at 8 p.m. MT.

National Honors
San Diego State's Erin Floros was named to the initial "Watch List" for the 6th Annual USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding athletic achievement by collegiate softball players across the country. Last season, Floros became SDSU's first softball All-American when she was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA third-team and the Easton-Bell Sports first-team.

BYU
BYU is currently on a nine-game winning streak, the longest of the season...The last time the Cougars won 10 consecutive games was in the 2003 season when BYU won a school record 12 in a row...As a team, the Cougars have hit more home runs this season (65) than they did in all of 2006 (63)...The team needs to win at least 11 of its last 14 games to secure its third consecutive 40-win season...Senior Jodi Norton needs five home runs to break BYU's single season record of 21.

Colorado State
The Colorado State softball team reached 60 home runs this weekend, breaking the single-season team mark of 58 set in 2004...With at least 12 games left in the 2007 season, the Rams need just eight more home runs to tie the MWC record of 68, held by BYU (2005)...Senior Brittany Huerta hit her team-leading 11th home run of the season and now has 32 home runs in her career, tying former NFCA 1st Team All-American Sara Fredstrom for the school record...Freshmen Ashley Munoz and Allison Majam combined for nine runs, 13 hits and five home runs last weekend...Senior pitcher Jessica Strickland pitched in three contests for the Rams last weekend, becoming the all-time leader in CSU history with 118 career appearances.

New Mexico
UNM has won seven of its last 10 games and is third in the league standings...UNM holds an 82-46 series advantage vs. New Mexico State after sweeping a doubleheader earlier in the year at Las Cruces...The Lobos have won the last four meetings with NMSU...UNM is hitting .291 as a team with 140 runs scored and 124 RBI...Sophomore Analise Rubalcava is the team's leading hitting with a .358 average.

San Diego State
SDSU is 20-10 (.667) over its last 30 MWC regular season games, dating back to the end of the 2005 season...The Aztecs have started 40 different batting lineups in their 46 games and 30 different fielding lineups...Only junior Tamani Wells has earned a start in every game...Freshman Brittany Knudsen is batting a team-best .380 this season, clsoe to the school record of .389, set by Kellie Nordhagen (2000)...With six strikeouts at UNLV on Sunday, junior Christina Ross moved into fifth-place on SDSU's all-time strikeout list with 303 K's.

UNLV
Brittany Meade led the Rebels in hitting in their four gams this past week as she hit at a .636 clip with seven hits, seven RBI and three runs scored...She amassed a slugging percentage of 1.091 with help from two doubles and one home run...Christie Robinson pitched UNLV to a 3-1 win over San Diego State Sunday...The lone run the Aztecs scored was unearned as she struck out five and walked none...Jaci Hull leads the Rebels with her .393 batting average, hits (57), runs (41), doubles (15), home runs (8), slugging percentage (.690) and on-base percentage (.522).

Utah
Utah's Kara Foster and Hailey Davenport are tied for second in the league in home runs with 14 round-trippers...Davenport hit a team-best two last weekend, plating a team-high four RBI...Left fielder Meghan Crouse led the team in hitting at an impressive .545 (6-for-11) and had a pair of doubles while hitting her first-ever home run...The Utes have homered in 25 games this season, going 16-7-1 in those games.
