COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State senior Ricki Walker and sophomore righthander Genevieve Kelly have been named Mountain West Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Walker, an Aurora, Colo., native, led the Rams to conference series sweeps over BYU and Utah last week, batting .500 (6-for-12) from the plate, with six RBI, two runs scored, a home run and a double. In the BYU series, she went 2-for-6 from the plate, with an RBI single and a run scored. Walker went 1-for-3 with two RBI in game one vs. Utah, and concluded her weekend with a 3-for-3 performance in game two against the Utes. Walker gave CSU an early 2-0 lead with her two-run homer in the bottom of the first. She also added an RBI single as Colorado State beat Utah, 4-1, for its sixth straight win in MWC play. On the season, Walker is batting .425, with four home runs and 31 RBI.

Kelly, from Rio Rancho, N.M., went 2-0 for Colorado State last weekend, tossing a complete game in the process. In 11.2 innings, she struck out 11 batters while giving up nine hits, three walks and an earned run. In CSU's game two win over BYU, Kelly fanned eight batters, while scattering three hits, in her fourth complete game victory of the season. In 4.2 innings of work in game two against Utah, she struck out three and gave up a run (on a passed ball), earning her eighth victory of the season.
