COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior outfielder Tiffany Goudy and Colorado State freshman right-hander Melanie Mahoney have been named Mountain West Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Goudy, a Paso Robles, Calif. product, went 5-for-10 (.500) from the plate, with a triple, a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base, leading the Aztecs to two wins on the week. She hit safely in three of four games and was responsible for all of the SDSU's runs on the week. Her best performance was a 3-for-4 outing in a 3-0 Aztec victory over conference foe UNLV in game one of a doubleheader. Against the Rebels, Goudy smashed a double, driving in two RBI and scoring a run of her own. In the Aztecs 1-0 win over UNLV in the second game, she went 1-for-2 from the plate with an RBI triple. Goudy is batting .362 on the season (including an MWC-best .625 in league play), with 28 RBI and is tied for the league lead in hits, with 51 on the season. This is her first career player of the week award.

Mahoney earned her second pitcher of the week accolade of the season and career with her performance in three conference games last week. She compiled a 2-1 record, with a 1.75 ERA and six strikeouts, while giving up 15 hits and seven runs in 24.0 innings of work. Her best outing came in game one of a doubleheader against BYU, where she pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout. The Erie, Colo. native carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the seventh before giving up her first hit in the Rams 6-0 win. In game two, she pitched 11.0 innings of relief in Colorado State's 6-5 win. Mahoney allowed two earned runs on six hits, while striking out four. Against the Cougars, she finished with a 0.78 ERA in 18 innings of work. Mahoney is now 10-6 on the year with a 1.74 ERA.
