Weekend Recap
Mountain West teams went 8-6 last week in non-league play, including New Mexico and BYU's perfect records. Conference play begins this week with San Diego State hosting BYU, and Utah traveling to UNLV on Thursday, April 5.

Television Tidbits
The Mountain West Conference 2007 softball broadcast schedule includes an unprecedented 11 games on national and regional television. The television exposure provided by the MWC broadcast partners far exceeds the softball coverage in the previous seven-year history of the league. Seven games will be shown on the MountainWest Sports Network - The Mtn., while four games will be broadcast live nationally on CSTV: College Sports Television.

This week, the first game of the BYU at San Diego State double-header will be televised live on CSTV, beginning at 3 p.m. PT on April 5. Also on Thursday, the Utah at UNLV match up can be found on The Mtn., beginning at 5 p.m. PT.

National Honors
San Diego State's Erin Floros was named to the initial "Watch List" for the 6th Annual USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding athletic achievement by collegiate softball players across the country. Last season, Floros became SDSU's first softball All-American when she was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA third-team and the Easton-Bell Sports first-team.

MWC Quick Hits
BYU
Against the Bengals this weekend, four players (Emi Snow, Andi Ramirez, Jennifer Whiteley and Tracee Hoch) hit .400 or better, with Snow hitting .833...Four Cougars (Snow, Hoch, Angeline Quiocho and Dani Urincho) also fielded 1.000...As a team, BYU hit .353 this weekend compared to .070 for its opponent...Senior Whiteley is batting .421 for the year with more than half the season behind her...Only five players in BYU history have finished the season with an average over .400.

Colorado State
Senior pitcher Jessica Strickland became just the third pitcher in school history to reach 500 innings pitched in her career at Colorado State...Strickland surpassed 500 innings pitched in the first inning of her complete-game, one hitter against Nebraska on March 28...The Rams open MWC play at home against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday, marking just the third time in league history that the Rams will open at Ram Field...Overall, Colorado State is 3-4 in MWC openers, including a 1-1 mark at home.

New Mexico
New Mexico enters the week with a 10-13 record and has a three-game winning streak heading into this weekend's conference opener against Colorado State...The Lobos lead the all-time series with the Rams, 40-39, but have gone 3-18 over the last five years...Last season, UNM went 1-3 against CSU with the only victory coming on May 6 in Fort Collins, Colo., 3-2...The Lobos are 1-6 in MWC openers dating back to the 2000 season.

San Diego State
Heading into MWC play, SDSU has won 10 of its last 11 games...Over the 11-game stretch, the Aztecs have outscored their opponents, 65-22...LHP Christina Ross threw her first career perfect game in SDSU's 5-0, eight-inning win over Brown on Wednesday night...She struck out six and did not allow a ball out of the infield...Ross has a career-high seven shutouts this season...The Aztecs are 11-1 over their last 12 home games and 32-11 over the last two seasons.

UNLV
UNLV will open MWC play on April 5 in a televised double-header against Utah...Redshirt freshman Jaci Hull led UNLV with a .538 hitting percentage in her last tournament, while cranking out four doubles and two home runs...Hull amassed a staggering 17 total bases for an on-base percentage of .600 and her seven hits helped her to a 1.308 slugging percentage...Stephanie Bregante went 1-1 on the weekend with a five-hit shut out over Sacramento State.

Utah
Utah hit 10 home runs last weekend, six of which came in the 12-4 win over Saint Mary's on March 31...The six home runs in one outing set Utah's single-game home run mark...The Utes finished last weekend with an impressive .657 slugging percentage and three of their players finished the weekend with a slugging percentage better than 1.000 (Kara Foster, Tori Medina, Diana Phillips)...Foster set a Utah single-game record by plating six RBI in the 11-0 win over Saint Mary's.
