ALBUQUERQUE - With her team's final two wins at last weekend's USF/Clearwater (Fla.) Parks and Recreation Tournament, University of New Mexico head softball coach Susan Craig cracked the 600-win barrier for her career.

Craig, who was largely responsible for founding the UNM softball program in 1977, now has a career mark of 600-526 (.533). She is among the top 25 winningest coaches of all time in terms of victories and is one of just 20 active coaches to reach the 600-win mark in NCAA Division I.

This season, Craig has led the Lobos to a 20-11 mark going into their first season of play in the Mountain West Conference. A Co-Coach of the Year in the WAC in 1999 and 1992, she was the first-ever president of the National Softball Coaches Association and is still active in several organizations whose efforts are to improve the standards of softball nationwide.
