Utah's Trevis And New Mexico's Dumas Named Mountain West Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Respectively Dumas garners honor for first time this season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah shortstop Lyndsey Trevis and New Mexico right-handed pitcher Amy Dumas are the Mountain West Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. This is the second player of the week honor in a row for Trevis and first pitcher of the week award for Dumas this season. Trevis, a junior from Glendora, Calif. (Glendora HS), went 9-for-19 (.474) with seven RBI, seven runs scored and a pair of home runs and doubles in six games last week at the Florida State Tournament. She recorded at least one hit in five of six contests, including three multi-hit games, while striking out four times and walking once. Her best outings of the week came against Georgia State, Connecticut and Bethune-Cookman. In the 2-0 win over Georgia State, she went 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs scored. In the 4-2 victory vs. Connecticut, Trevis connected on 2-of-3 from the plate with a home run and two RBI. Her best performance came in the Utes 10-0 victory over Bethune-Cookman where she went 3-for-4, with three RBI, two doubles and one run scored. The Utes went 4-2 in the tournament and Trevis was one of nine players selected from 14 teams to the all-tournament team.
Dumas, a freshman from Farmington, N.M. (Farmington HS), went 4-0 with a 1.11 ERA in four appearances for New Mexico at the Sacramento State Invitational last week. In 25.2 innings on the mound, she posted three complete games, allowing 21 hits and four earned runs, while striking out nine and walking none. In the 4-2 victory over Santa Clara, Dumas faced 26 batters over seven innings, scattering five hits and allowing two earned runs. Against Sacramento State, she entered the game in the third frame and struck out the first two batters faced. She struck out a total of five in 4.2 innings of work vs. the Hornets and gave up just three hits in the Lobos 1-0 win. In the 6-1 complete game victory vs. Louisville, Dumas faced 26 batters over seven innings and allowed one earned run off of seven hits. She concluded the week with a 2-1 win over Purdue. She faced 27 batters, allowing six hits and one earned run over seven complete innings vs. the Boilermakers.
