COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU junior Jodi Norton was named the MWC Softball Player of the Week, while BYU senior righthander Summer Tobias and UNLV freshman righthander Christy Robinson have been named Mountain West Conference Softball Co-Pitchers of the Week. This is the second career weekly award for Norton, the fourth for Tobias and first for Robinson.

Norton, a Mesa, Ariz., native, led all Cougars in the Hawaii tournament in batting average (.500), homeruns (3) and RBIs (7). She hit two homeruns and recorded three RBIs in the tournament finale to give BYU a 5-2 over Texas-Arlington. She also boasted a slugging percentage of 1.250 in the five-game tournament, while starting four of the five games.

Tobias, from Temecula, Calif., pitched a complete-game shutout against tournament-host Hawai'i, while striking out 10 players in the contest. She also recorded wins in three of the five tournament games. Over the week, Tobias collected 21 strikeouts and tallied an ERA of 1.89.

Robinson, a Clinton, Wash., native, was key for the Rebels in relief roles this past weekend. She notched her first win of her career against Southern Utah. She entered with UNLV trailing 6-4 through 3.2 innings and proceeded to pick up the third out of the inning. She recorded her second win the following night, as she closed down UIC in the seventh inning. UNLV trailed 7-6, but won on a UNLV grand slam. Against #12 Oklahoma, she faced 13 batters and struck out seven, including five straight and seven of nine. Against Kentucky, she picked up her first save after entering in the sixth with a 3-2 lead, no outs and one runner on base. Versus #13 Washington, she tossed 4.2 innings, while allowing five hits and striking out two with no walks.
