Colorado Springs, Colo. - UNLV shortstop Racheal Goodpaster and right-handed pitcher Nicole Truax are the Mountain West Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, after helping UNLV post a 2-3 mark at the Arizona State Coca-Cola Classic in Phoenix, Ariz.

Goodpaster, a senior from Fair Oaks, Calif. (Bella Vista HS), went 5-for-14 (.357) with eight RBI, three runs scored, one double and two home runs in five games last week. Goodpaster helped UNLV capture two wins vs. No. 24 Texas (10-6) and Missouri (11-6) at the Arizona State Coca-Cola. Her best performance came against the Longhorns where she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run scored, a double and a home run. The following day, Goodpaster helped the Rebels overcome a 6-1 deficit against Missouri after hitting a three-run home run in the second inning to tie the game at 6 apiece. She went 1-for-2 vs. the Tigers and was walked twice.

Truax, a junior from Henderson, Nev. (Green Valley HS), went 1-0 in two appearances at the Arizona State Coca-Cola Classic and posted a 3.31 ERA. Truax relieved teammate Kacey Ellis in the bottom of the third frame vs. Massachusetts and pitched the remaining four and a third innings. She allowed just four hits and no earned runs, while striking out three in the 6-0 loss. In the 10-6 win over No. 24 Texas, Truax pitched her first complete game of the season, allowing four earned runs on six hits and striking out six.
