New Mexico Outlasts BYU in 10
Ogas pitches a complete game six-hitter for the Lobos.

Fort Collins, Colo. - Ashley Shartzer scored the winning run in the top of the tenth inning as the New Mexico Lobos (30-34) beat the BYU Cougars (34-18), advancing to play San Diego State in the second round of the Mountain West Conference softball tournament.
Shartzer hit a single down the right field line off BYU losing pitcher Niki Andersen (18-7) with one out in the tenth. After a Ryanne Hodgins single, Shartzer scored from second on BYU first baseman Ianeta Le'I's fielding error on Jamar Bynum's sharply hit groundball.
Iraina Ogas (10-9) pitched a complete game six-hitter for the Lobos. She walked four and struck out eight. After walking two in the second, she escaped by striking out BYU center fielder Debbie Dodds, stranding runners on second and third.
BYU's best chance to win came in the bottom of the ninth. Shortstop Jodi Norton reached on a two-out fielder's choice. An error by New Mexico second baseman Stephanie Kennedy on placed Cougar runners at first and third with two outs. Ogas got BYU left fielder Jennifer Whiteley to ground out to second, stranding two. Both teams left nine on base.
In the bottom of the tenth, Ogas got BYU catcher Paige Paramore to ground into a game-ending double play.
