PROVO, Utah - In game seven of the 2002 Mountain West Conference Tournament, No. 6 Colorado State surprised No. 2 Utah 3-1 to advance to Saturday play. The Rams improve to 19-32 while the Utes drop to 28-34. The teams will replay each other tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. MDT at Gail Miller Field, with the winner advancing to the championship game.

Colorado State responded in the bottom of the sixth, loading the bases off and walk of Amanda Kocis and base hits by Steph Roberts and Ricki Walker. Pitcher Maren Christensen smacked a three-run triple to right center as the Rams took a decisive 3-1 lead.
In the final inning, Lyndsey Trevis and Stahnke, who both have had home runs in the tournament, had runners on first and second and were unable to advance the runners.
