PROVO, Utah - BYU softball had another double-header victory against the Lobos Thursday 4-0 and 9-7 in New Mexico.

Similar to their last meeting, the first game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Inaeta Le`i homered the ball to left field, giving the Cougars a 1-0 advantage. Daniella Urincho held the Lobos scoreless in the first game as she threw a three hitter and four strikeouts.

"Daniella, who threw her second three hitter in a row had an excellent day on the mound," BYU head softball coach Eakin said. "We played excellent defense, too."

The Lobos started out the second game scoring two runs in the first inning.

"We fell behind in the first inning due to a disputed call by the umpires," Eakin said.

BYU came out in the second inning and gave the Lobos a ride for their money. Paige Paramore, Urincho, Lindi Kennedy and Jodi Norton scored the first four runs. After Le`i singled up the middle, Lauren Watson-Perry and Jennifer Whiteley also scored.

BYU's 6-2 advantage didn't come without sacrifice. Watson-Perry injured her thumb sliding into second.

"There's a possibility we may have lost our catcher Watson-Perry," Eakin said.

The Cougars will fly to Colorado tomorrow, but may or may not play the scheduled double-header Saturday at 12 pm. and 2 p.m. due to snow.
