Dec. 14, 2006

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Soccer Buzz All-America Teams were announced, with two Mountain West student-athletes earning accolades. Utah sophomore forward Adele Letro was named second-team All-America by NSCAA, while BYU sophomore Katie Larkin earned third-team All-America honors from NSCAA and Soccer Buzz. BYU's Andrea Willis and Utah's Kelly Isleib were named Soccer Buzz third-team Freshman All-Americans. Since 1999, nine student-athletes have garnered All-America status (by either NSCAA or Soccer Buzz) and six student-athletes have been members of the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America Team.

Letro, a Davis, Calif., native, was named the 2006 MWC Offensive Player of the Year after leading Utah to its third conference title and fifth consecutive NCAA appearance. She led the league in goals (6) and points (12) in conference games, while also scoring a conference-leading five game-winning goals on the season.

Larkin, hailing from Draper, Utah, is a two-time all-conference first-team selection. She led the Cougar squad with six goals and five assists on the season for a combined 17 points. She also helped propel BYU to a 13-2-3 overall record, which included two victories over Top-25 opponents.

Willis, a Riverside, Calif., native, was named the MWC Co-Freshman of the Year and a MWC second-team selection. She led BYU to a second-place finish in the MWC with a 4-1-2 record, while anchoring a defense that only allowed four goals. She also scored her first career goal vs. UNLV.

Isleib, the MWC Co-Freshman of the Year, started all 22 games for the Utes. The Park City, Utah, native, scored one goal and was third on the team with four assists. Isleib also helped anchor a defense that did not allow a goal during conference play.
