San Diego State is making its first appearance in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament since 1999. The Aztecs earned the league's automatic bid after defeated BYU, 1-0, in the championship game of the MWC Tournament. The Cougars earned an at-large bid to the national postseason tournament for the fourth time as a member of the MWC. Prior to 2009, the league has made 21 appearance and hold an all-time record of 11-18-4 (.394).
