Mountain West Conference Reprimands UNLV Soccer Player

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV women's soccer student-athlete Alicia Lugo has been issued a public reprimand for comments critical of game officials following the Wednesday, November 5, 2008 New Mexico vs. UNLV soccer match. The remarks appeared on The Mtn. as part of an interview that first aired on November 6. The actions of Ms. Lugo were in violation of MWC Sportsmanship Rule Sections 4.2-e and 4.4.5.

The Mountain West Conference expressed appreciation for the support of the MWC Sportsmanship Policy by the UNLV administration. The MWC will have no further comment regarding this case.
