2008 MWC Women's Soccer Championship Bracket Get Acrobat Reader

BYU claimed its fifth regular-season Mountain West Conference women's soccer title after finishing with a perfect 7-0-0 league record. The undefeated Conference season earned the Cougars (15-5-0 overall) the No. 1 seed in the MWC Women's Soccer Championship scheduled for Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Utah finished in second place with a 5-2-0 league record and 10-8-2 overall mark. TCU (13-3-2 overall, 4-2-1 MWC) finished third, while UNLV (11-6-2 overall, 3-3-1 MWC) and New Mexico (8-5-5 overall, 3-3-1) tied for fourth place in the standings. The Lobos will get the fourth seed by virtue of a tiebreaker after defeating the Rebels 2-1 earlier in the season. San Diego State (6-9-3 overall, 2-4-1 MWC) rounds out the top six teams advancing to the MWC Championship.

The conference tournament will take place Nov. 5-8 at Peter Johann Memorial Stadium on the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev. The opening match will see No. 3 TCU vs. No. 6 San Diego State at noon PT on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The other Wednesday match will include No. 4 seed New Mexico vs. No. 5 seed UNLV at 3 p.m. PT. No. 1 seed BYU and No. 2 seed Utah will have first-round byes and will play in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 6. The Utes will play the winner of the No. 3 TCU/No. 6 San Diego State match at noon PT, while the Cougars will face the winner of the No. 4 New Mexico/No. 5 UNLV game at 3 p.m. PT.

The Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Championship title match is slated for noon PT on Saturday, Nov. 8, with the winner earning an automatic bid into the 2008 NCAA Women's College Cup.

The MWC Women's Soccer Championship semifinal games will be televised live at noon and 3 p.m. MT on The Mtn. Saturday's championship game will also be aired via same-day tape delay on The Mtn. at 10:30 p.m. PT, and re-air Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. PT.
