MWC Weekly Soccer Awards
UNLV's Killoch and Huff win honors
Nov. 1, 2004 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore midfielder Heather Killoch and junior goalkeeper Jenna Huff, both of UNLV, have been named Mountain West Conference Players of the Week for women's soccer. Killoch wins offensive player honors, while Huff takes defensive player accolades. Killoch, of Wall, N.J., tallied the first goal against San Diego State, Oct. 30. The goal proved to be the game winner, as the Rebels defeated the Aztecs, 3-0, to win their first-ever MWC soccer title. Killoch took a pass from Jessica Brown and sent the shot over the goalie's head for her second goal of the year. Huff, of Huntington Beach, Calif., posted her school-record eighth shutout of the season as UNLV won the conference title with the win over San Diego State. She posted eight saves while facing 13 Aztec shots. UNLV tied the school record for most wins in a season with 12 (12-3-2), matching the 2001 squad. The Rebels are the No. 1 seed going into this week's MWC Soccer Championship, Nov. 3-6, in Provo, Utah.
