COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV junior midfielder Tanya Roberts and senior defender Nickie Olson have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Roberts, from Fremont, Calif., scored twice in UNLV's 3-0 win over San Diego State, ensuring the Rebels the second seed in the MWC Tournament. She posted the game-winner in the 11th minute, as she headed in a pass for a 1-0 UNLV lead. Roberts also scored an insurance goal in the 78th minute of the game.

Olson, a Las Vegas, Nev., native, is honored as the Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. This past weekend, she helped the Rebel backline to their fifth conference shutout of the year in the 3-0 win over San Diego State. Olson helped hold the Aztecs to seven shots, and only three on goal (just one in the second half). She also helped the Rebels on offense, assisting on the eventual game-winning goal.
