Wyoming's McShane Named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week Senior garners honor following her second hat trick of the season.
Oct. 16, 2000 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming senior forward Kelly McShane has been named the Mountain West Conference Women¹s Soccer Player of the Week following her second hat trick of the season last week. McShane, a product of Littleton, Colo., scored three goals on eight shots in the Cowgirls 6-0 win over South Alabama. She became just the second player in MWC history to record two hat tricks in the same season (Michelle Jensen-Peterson, BYU). McShane scored the opening goal of the match at the 6:48 mark. She extended the Cowgirl lead to 3-0 with her second goal at the 23:54 mark and completed the hat trick in the 55th minute of the match. McShane is the only player in Wyoming¹s short women¹s soccer history to have recorded a hat trick. She has also moved into first on the Cowgirls career goals (18) and points (41) list, as well as setting new single season goals (9) and points (19) marks.
