COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference kicks off its conference season this week with six games on the schedule. Other conference action this week sees UNLV at Wyoming, Air Force at BYU, New Mexico at Utah and San Diego State at Wyoming. The Aztecs and UNLV both have non-conference matches at Colorado College this week, as well. The MWC has 39 non-conference wins on the year.

MWC Quick Hits

Air Force

* Air Force broke a four-game winless skid with its 1-0 win over DePaul.

* The win was AFA's fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which ties the school record for consecutive Division I home wins.

* The Falcons open MWC play this week at Utah and BYU. AFA is winless in four matches against the Utes and winless in six matches against the Cougars.

* Senior goalkeeper J.J. Wolf tied a school record with 16 saves in the win over DePaul. She tied the mark set by Kristy Kuhlman (vs. BYU) in 1999.

BYU

* The Cougars have six shutouts in 12 games on the year for a 0.50 shutout percentage.

* BYU is 2-1-1 against ranked opponents this season.

New Mexico

* Junior goalkeeper Kristen Winters is third in the MWC in saves per game (6.22), tied for fourth in shutouts (three), and fourth in total saves (56).

San Diego State

* San Diego State has gone 4-1-1 since starting the season 1-4-0.

* The Aztecs have played two consecutive overtime matches for the first time since 1992, where they played three straight overtime affairs (a 2-1 win over Cal Poly, a 2-1 loss to Cal State Dominguez and a 0-0 tie with UC Irvine).

* SDSU outshot Arizona State, 19-14, in its 1-1 tie. The 19 shots allowed were a season-high for the Sun Devils.

UNLV

* UNLV nearly upset No. 3 UCLA at home last weekend. The Bruins were the highest ranked team to ever visit Peter Johann Stadium and the first top-five opponent for the Rebels in school history. UCLA beat UNLV, 1-0, on a goal with three seconds left in regulation.

* UNLV set a new attendance record in its match against the Bruins. 1,664 fans attended the match, shattering the previous record of 1,117, set against BYU on Oct. 14, 1999.

* Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Huff had a season-high 13 saves against UCLA.

Utah

* Utah had a school-record seven-game winning streak halted with its loss to Sacramento State on Sunday.
