The Mountain West Conference begins league play Thursday (Oct. 7) with UNLV at Utah at 3 p.m. and San Diego State at BYU at 7 p.m. Utah, the 2003 league regular-season and tournament champion, and UNLV are both tied at No. 10 in the NSCAA/adidas West Regional rankings.

Utah upset No. 7 UCLA last week, 2-1, for the first victory by a Mountain West team against a ranked opponent this year.
