Quick Hits

• Conference play begins this weekend. The league finished non-conference play with a 44-39-7 (.528) record in 2006. On Thursday, Oct. 5, UNLV takes on Utah in Salt Lake City, and BYU travels to TCU.

• Last season Utah claimed the women's soccer regular-season championship title for the second time in MWC history. The Utes were picked to finish second this season, behind BYU, a four-time MWC champion.

• BYU is ranked nationally in four categories, including goals-against average (10th), won-lost-tied percentage (T-6th), save percentage (15th) and shutout percentage (18th). Goalkeeper Erika Woodbury is also ranked nationally for her goals-against average (13th) and save percentage (19th).
