PROVO, Utah - All-American Aleisha Cramer scored her first goal of the year helping the Cougars to a 2-0 victory over Arizona, Friday night in front of over 1,400 fans.

Aydre Soffe opened up the scoring 28 minutes into the game with her first collegiate goal. The goal came within a minute of her substituting into the game. The Cougars took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Cramer's goal came five minutes into the second half after a blatant foul by Arizona on teammate Jeni Williardson Viernes. The foul set up a penalty shot situation which Cramer kicked a grounder into the left side of the net

Weather created a ten-minute delay after a wind burst blew the tents covering the benches and press box off and over the fence.

Senior goalkeeper Jennifer Waldron recorded her fifth shutout of the year with great help from her defenders. The Cougars out shot the Wildcats 20 to seven.

"This was the strongest opening we've had all season. We were mentally prepared from the start," said head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "We switched up a few positions tonight and I was very pleased with our overall performance."

The 5-2-1 BYU team takes on Boston University Saturday night at 8:00 on South Field.
