COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - With its 1-0 upset victory over then fifth-ranked Florida last week, the Utah Utes (8-1-0) collected its second win over a top-25 opponent this season. After going 2-0 last week and winning six consecutive matches, Utah cracked the NSCAA/Adidas Top-25 poll for the first time in the program's history, coming in at No. 19. The Utes will travel to California this week to take on St. Mary's on Friday, Oct. 3 and Sacramento State on Sunday, Oct. 5. Other notable matches this week include UNLV hosting No. 3 UCLA, BYU (6-3-1) vs. USC, San Diego State vs. Arizona State, Air Force vs. Montana, and Wyoming at Gonzaga. The MWC has a non-conference record of 33-26-5 on the season, including four victories over ranked opponents.

MWC Quick Hits

Air Force

* Air Force is winless in four road games this year (0-3-1).

* Junior forward Jennifer Rowland has 33 percent (four of 12) of AFA's goals this season. Her 15 career goals are eighth in school history.

* Senior goalkeeper J.J. Wolf has played every minute in goal for the Falcons this season. She has 47 saves, a 1.60 goals against average and a .758 save percentage in 844 minutes. Her 173 career saves and 12 career wins both rank third in AFA school history.

BYU

* The Cougars have six shutouts in 10 games on the year for a 0.60 shutout percentage, which currently ranks 10th in the nation.

* With the 3-2 overtime loss to No. 5 Florida, BYU is now 2-1-1 against ranked opponents this season.

* The match against the second-ranked Gators drew 2,412 fans marking the second highest attendance in South Stadium history. BYU has set its three highest attendance marks this season.

New Mexico

* Junior goalkeeper Kristen Winters is second in the MWC in saves per game (5.75), tied for third in shutouts (three), and fourth in saves (46).

San Diego State

* Senior forward Kim Castellanos scored her fourth goal of the season against Nevada after missing the four previous matches due to an ankle sprain. The goal was the 34th of her career, which tied her for second on the all-time Aztec list.

* Before Nevada's goal at the 53:20 mark of Friday's match, the Aztec defense held its opponents scoreless for 255:57. The scoreless span is the team's longest since 1999 when they held opponents scoreless over 298:22.

* SDSU's three game win streak has brought its record to 4-4-0 on the season.

UNLV

* UNLV saw its three-game unbeaten streak snapped in its 2-0 loss to Montana. The Rebels streak of three straight shutouts was also snapped against the Grizzlies.

* Junior forward Annii Magliulo leads the MWC with seven goals. She is the only UNLV player with more than two goals on the season.

* The Rebels welcome the highest ranked women's team ever to play at Peter Johann Field this week, as No. 3 UCLA comes in for a visit on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Utah

* Utah is off to its best start in school history at 8-1-0. It previous best start was last season when the Utes went 6-1-2 through nine games. In 2002, Utah went on to go 11-1-3 before suffering it second loss of the season.

* With the 1-0 victory over No. 5 Florida, Utah has improved to 4-0-0 at home against teams ranked in the NSCAA/Adidas Top-25 poll under second-year head coach Rich Manning. The Utes are 2-1 against Top-25 competition this season.

* Utah has four shutouts this season The Utes have shutout Utah State (1-0), Weber State (3-0), Idaho State (2-0) and No. 5 Florida (1-0).

* The Utes freshman goalkeepers have held up well this season. Kaycie Zimmerman has allowed just four goals in 368 minutes and has 11 saves and a 0.98 goals against average. Ashley Mason has given up only three goals n 453 minutes and has 24 saves with a 0.60 goals against average.

Wyoming

* Senior goalkeeper Lori Scheider has 68 saves this season, upping her career total at Wyoming to 261. She currently is third all-time at Wyoming in saves and needs just 12 more to move into second place.

* Freshman forward Christine Nagel continues to lead the Cowgirls in shots this season with 27. She needs just 13 more to move into fourth place all-time for shots in a single season.
