TCU junior forward Lizzy Karoly and New Mexico senior goalkeeper Shannon Adragna have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Karoly, a native of Escondido, Calif., recorded a six-point weekend en route to wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (6-0) and UTSA (2-1). In the win vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Karoly tallied a goal and two assists, including the helpers on the first two goals of the game. Against UTSA, the forward scored the first goal of the game by deflecting a pass in the air and heading the ball into the upper right hand corner of the net to give the Horned Frogs a 1-0 lead.
Adragna, an Albuquerque, N.M., native, earned two wins, including her fifth shutout of the season over the weekend. In the 3-1 win over Utah Valley, Adragna made five saves while facing eight shots. In the shutout over Central Arkansas, the goalie picked up another four saves, while holding the Bears without a score.
