Kofoed Captures Utah's Second Straight Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week Junior leads Utes to a 2-0 record.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Utah¹s Amy Kofoed has been named the Mountain West Conference Women¹s Soccer Player of the Week following her three-goal performance last week. This is the Utes second straight Player of the Week honor as Shauna Gurr garnered the honor last week. Utah won both of its matches last week and is currently on a five-match win streak.
A junior forward from Layton, Utah, Kofoed scored two game-winning goals this past week at South Carolina and Georgia. In heavy rains at South Carolina, Kofoed found the net in the 86th minute of the match to break a 1-1 tie and give the Utes a 2-1 victory. In the 3-2 overtime victory at Georgia, Kofoed gave the Utes a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute on an unassisted goal. Georgia scored on consecutive penalty kicks in the 80th and 83rd minutes to reclaim a 2-1 advantage. Sophomore Katie Tate tied the scored at 2-2 with 1:08 remaining and forced overtime. Kofoed struck again in the second overtime, notching the game-winning goal in the 109th minute to secure the 3-2 victory.
This is Kofoed¹s third player of the week honor in her career and first this season.
