Colorado Springs, Colo. ­ University of Utah sophomore midfielder Amy Kofoed has been selected as the Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Kofoed helped lead the Utes to two victories during the week. Utah defeated Montana (1-0) on Saturday and Washington State (3-1) on Sunday at the Montana Tournament in Missoula, Mont.

Kofoed, of Layton, Utah, (Northridge High School), scored two goals on six shots in the 3-1 victory over Washington State. Her first goal came in the 53rd minute of the match and gave Utah a 2-0 lead. Kofoed¹s second goal came at the 74:19 mark of the second half and sealed Utes' 3-1 victory.

The two-goal performance by Kofoed was the second time in four outings that she has scored twice in a single match. On September 10 vs. Butler, she also netted two goals in the 3-2 Utah victory.

This is the first player of the week honor for Kofoed this season.
